The WNC Health Policy Initiative (HPI) Podcast
The WNC Health Policy Initiative Podcast explores public health strategies that improve health and well-being in Western North Carolina (WNC). In each episode, we discuss local health policy, community initiatives, and innovative approaches addressing three key areas: healthcare access, social drivers of health, and workforce development. Through conversations with practitioners, researchers, and community leaders, the podcast highlights solutions that support rural health, stronger health systems, and resilient communities in Appalachia and rural North Carolina.
The Health Policy Initiative (HPI) is a collaboration between the NC Center for Health & Wellness at UNC Asheville and Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC), with generous support from Dogwood Health Trust. Together, these partners work to advance policies and programs that improve health outcomes across Western North Carolina.
